Jubilee, uncorrelated ...

We had our regional Jubilee.  It was obviously not a product of correlation. Parts were good.  Parts were hideous.  Parts were funny (such as the "ohh, look at that cute lesbian couple" remark one person in the audience managed to say at a moment their voice would carry).  They had clips of lots and lots of the kids saying things.  No universal format.  No apparent style guide.  Kind of fresh, but the ones of girls talking about marriage made it clear that while a mission was nice, what really counted was a guy had to be tall.  Which led someone to remark that I sure got lucky since I had by far the best wife in the group.

Obviously, I remarked, she wasn't corrupted by going to dance festival ...

Though if they only knew, I got more than lucky.  My wife is better than I knew could be possible.  I remain grateful for the path that led me to her and for her marrying me.

Also ran across a blog post I really liked:

I wrote the word pericope on the board and explained that that meant a complete, coherent passage from the scriptures, one that ignored chapter and verse divisions if necessary in order to encompass a complete thought. (I sketched a bracket that framed the last part of one “chapter” and the first part of the following “chapter” on my diagram.)

Then I asked a brother to read the last three verses of John 13 and the first three verses of John 14 without pausing, as if he saw no chapter division.
