There is an old song I learned as a child: "Count your blessings."
Yesterday I was talking with a mediator in Poland, Emmy Irobi, and he mentioned that the song was running through his head.
I found a lot to admire listening to him, and we shared memories about the song and things related to it until a judge called and I had to go. It is good to talk with people who count thier blessings and find joy in that.
But I do count my blessings. One by one by one.

What a cool song to have running through one's head! I know that it makes a big difference for me when I count my blessings. I used to think a lot about how my job requires adequate vision, typing skills, hearing, communication skills. By American standards, my job is not a job of prestige. However, I know people who do hard physical labor and have had operations so I am grateful to have such a job. Also, I am grateful that I usually cope pretty good. Although my problems are always with me, it is not like my nerves are shot all the time. In fact, when I am at home on the computer I can pretty relaxed. Also, at work on some calls when I am "in the zone" and feeling pretty confident, I can be pretty relaxed. --Counting blessings--not just in November. :)
There are so many blessings, if we will just stop and notice them.
Ya know, Stephen.
I actually do think I count my blessings. I haven't always. Not even close to most of my life.
Its a very good thing to turn from raging at God, to thanking him.
Life is an odd mix of experiences, isn't it?
At work a lot of times meals are catered through the year, but I miss out on these free meals because of my phobias of contaminating other people's food. I do not worry about my own food being contaminated most of the time. I know that is strange how my mind works and yet I cannot stop it as it has been this way for 12 years since seing a video at a Fast Food place that I had worked previously before I was ripe for ocd. I was only made it about a week this time. Which reminds me that I am grateful to hold a job when I had to quit than one and had no idea if I would ever hold another job with the world closing in on me. But although I cannot partake of the free meals, I am grateful that I am now able to carry a bar for my lunch in my pocket. Before that was too much for me and I would have a lot of trouble concentrating by the end of the day. I am also grateful that my mom usually sees to it that I have a lot of protein with my breakfast as I require a lot of protein to think concentrate. Also, we usually have a lot of fresh fruit here. I am not able to take any containers for water or beverages. And at work, that makes me think about how grateful I am for the purified water that is in the room with my computer. It makes me so happy when I am thirsty at work to know the water is right there!
Yes, it is nice to know water is waiting for me when I get home. It is also great to know that there is so much knowledge at my finger tips when I come online. And friends too......Well, I could keep going on and on about my blessings........
We do have so much to be thankful for.
There is a reason why our primary teachers taught us to do our "thank you"'s before our "Please bless us with"'s when we pray. I think, most of the time, when I am finished with my thank you's, i realize that my "please bless me with" list is a lot shorter than I had originally supposed.

Nicely said.
Thank you all.
Always good to count your blessings. We have so many.
