Singh Gildarie was buried today. He died yesterday, after a long illness. He was my first home teaching companion in this ward, he could never go with me, he was always too sick, but he was always there for Sacrament meeting, always faithful until the end.

May grace attend him.

I'm sorry you lost your friend, Stephen.

You know, there was a general authority who lost, I believe, a son in a plane crash last year, can't remember the details. He was on TV and he was just devastated, you could tell, although he proclaimed his faith.

What I wonder, is why do we hurt so bad when somebody we loves dies, when we know that life goes on? Why do you suppose? It's like they went on a trip, in reality, but it is the most painful thing we endure. I've never been able to understand that.

I know my sons are not dead, I know they are still alive, but I can't put it aside. I can't figure that out.
